Lifetime Engineering Applications project

What is LEAP?

LEAP centers arounds the chemical engineering industry. Ranging from biofuels to oil and gas, students learn a variety of techniques and management of chemical processes in the industry. Members are taught how to emulate these processes on simulation software (ProII). Working in groups, students construct their own process geared towards producing a given product and present their findings through economic and engineering analysis.

What are some past projects?

As a project dedicated to exploring the industry, LEAP focuses on the variety of industries where chemical engineering can be applied, from core industries to new and upcoming ones! Past projects include:

  • Oil Refinery
  • Ammonium
  • Alcohol Distillery
  • Biofuels
Using elaborate chemical engineering knowledge, students can produce processes and operations such as the one above.
